Every graduate scheme is different. Some last 18 months, others take over two years. Some might see you rotating across different parts of a business area; others might see you posted in different parts of the country.
But one thing is certain. You’ll work with respected professionals on projects that matter – both us and the millions of customers who rely on us.
Exact requirements will vary between schemes, but as a general rule we look for:
Depending on which scheme you join, you might be coding a new app. Assessing our risks. Or even transforming how we work as a business. The possibilities are almost limitless.
However, every graduate scheme offers you:
Let’s face it, a solid network of peers will be key to your success on the scheme. That’s why we’ve put together The Graduate Networking Committee. Part of the Accelerating Capability Programme, their sole purpose is to arrange a variety of networking and community events for all our graduates. So, no matter where you’re located, you’ll get plenty of opportunities to share, network and have fun with those who are on the same journey as you are.
The world has changed dramatically over the last 10 years, which has made a real impact on the skills needed by businesses to keep pace with changing technology and customer expectations. This programme is designed to support you, and Santander, in getting ready for a digital future.
It offers a mix of on the job and professional training. Depending on the programme you’re going for, this might take the form of online modules, classroom sessions or a combination of both. You’ll also benefit from rotational placements that will give you exposure, and help you build networks across the business.
This training will provide you with an opportunity to demonstrate to the bank that your fresh perspective and new ideas can be turned into revenue generating, or cost saving, implementations. You can then look back and reflect on your learning throughout the programme.
You will also have access to MIO, our amazing online learning platform, providing you easy access to learning when and wherever you want it.
At every step, you will have a dedicated graduate and line manager for each rotation, supporting you throughout your programme.
It will vary between schemes, but as a general rule you will receive:
While there’s a Santander branch in pretty much every town across the country, most of our opportunities are located in the operational hubs listed below.
However, due to the current Covid situation, we’re continuing to work from home across the business. Of course, we’re looking forward to the situation changing, at which point you will begin working from a specific location. Please check the role that you’re applying for to find out where that location’s likely to be.
We sometimes have opportunities at other locations, including Bootle in Liverpool, so keep a look out for these.
Find out why taking the graduate path was such a great move for Sobia.
Now that you've decided on your next step,
you'll be wondering how to apply.
Well, it's easy really.
